I Need This Today!

Here is another batch of my pictures from "The Best Trip EVER!" And seriously, I really need something to pick up my spirits today. Ever get the feeling you are trying your best yet still failing miserably at everything you do? Well, I guess that's why it's called Domestic Chaos!
And now for the mood changers!
This has to be one of my favorite pictures! Just bask in the kitschy-ness!

Seligman, AZ is just a blip on the Route 66 trail, but it sure makes a statement!

Grand Canyon. Everyone needs to go there at least once in their life!
My hair looks freakishly neon

This was at Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument. Very steep trail

On the other side of the Sunset Crater park, there are some stunning ruins in the Wopatki National Ruins park.

Hope everyone is having a fantastic week!

For The Sake of My Sanity

I must say that being in blog land last week was just about killing me! I am not usually a very jealous person, but dang it, I really wanted to go to VLV again this year! Unfortunately, the finances were just not there. So lucky you, you get to relive the best vacation I've ever had in my life just to make me feel a little better.
Last year, my boyfriend, John, and I decided to go to VLV for the first time. As if that wasn't enough, we figured that if we were going to take the chance to go out west, we would take a road trip down Route 66!

First we flew into VEGAS, experienced old Vegas a bit, then got our rental car.
Whoo Hoo! We were officially on Route 66. A nice couple, calling themselves "the fun police" actually pulled over to take our picture in front of the sign. Kinda funny!

We drove down the loneliest, most beautiful stretch of Route 66, between Needles, CA and Oatman, AZ, listening to Slim Whitman's Indian Love Call. So cliche. I love it!
If you are looking for a outlaw western town, Oatman is the place! No kidding, these donkeys that run around the town are left over from when it was an old mining town.

Right outside of Oatman was, by far, the most romantic lookout I've ever seen!

Well, that was the first leg of the trip. I will be showing more photos this week.

The "Hey Your Shirt's On Backwards" Shirt

I was so excited when I finished this shirt last night, so I threw it on, and walked out to show it off to my boyfriend. The reaction I got was NOT what I was hoping for!

He was sure that I had put the shirt on backwards. When I tried explaining that it was the style of it, and ran to get the pattern to prove him wrong, he exclaimed that they all looked like they had backwards shirts on. Grrr.
So I guess the moral of this little rant is that boys don't know what they're talking about when it comes to what looks good! So there.

What sort of sewing projects are you working on?
